Our Staff
Director • The director is responsible for forming the center philosophy, center policies, and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance of all child care regulations. NCDC has hired a director with a Bachelor's degree in education and significant child care experience to ensure that the program is the highest quality care in the area. A strong background and training in early childhood is paramount to the development of age appropriate policies and programs.
Our Director Kathy Kashner, has a degree in Elementary Education from West Chester University and is pursuing her Masters in Early Childhood from Millersville University. She has obtained her Director's Credential from Delaware Community College. Kathy has worked in childcare for 15 years and hasbeen working for Nottingham Country Day Care since it opened. She has been the Director for the past 4 years and moved the center from a STAR 2 rating to a STAR 4 rating.. She currently lives in Oxford, has Kindergarten twins, and an infant son.
Assistant Director • Geraldine Campbell is our Assistant Director. She is responsible for assisting in day to day operations of the center. She has a Masters in Elementary Education from Wilkes College and a BS in Elementary Education from Millersville University. She has taught in the Chester and Coatesville School Districts. She has a 10 year old daughter and a 5 year old son who attended Nottingham Country Day Care.
Lead Caregivers • While the lead caregivers at NCDC are required to have a minimum of 2 years experience in the child care field, we also seek out individuals that demonstrate a firm knowledge and understanding of child development. Staff are required to attend 24 hours of training throughout the year. Each lead caregiver is certified in first aid.
Lead Infant Caregiver • Ms Ashley is obtaining her PsyD in family counseling and holds a BS in Psychology from the Universtiy of Delaware with a minor in Spanish Studies. She has been with NCDC for 5 years and lives in the Little Britain area. She has 2 school age stepsons, a toddler son, and an infant son.
Ms Berna has been with NCDC for over 2 years. She is originally from Turkey and came to the states as a nanny. Berna enjoys teaching the children nursery rhymes in German as well as sign language. She has an infant daughter.
Lead Young Toddler Caregivers • Ms Amber has been with NCDC for over 2 years and has a CDA (Child Development Associate) in early childhood education from Delaware County Community College. She is continuing her education at HACC in ECE. She is expecting her first child this fall.
Lead Older Toddler Caregivers • Ms Heather holds a CDA and is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been with NCDC for over 3 years and has a preschool daughter and a schoolage daughter.
Lead Preschool Teacher (3's) • Ms Trish has her associates degree in Early Childhood Education, her CDA, and is pursuing her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from Millersville University. She has been with NCDC for 3 years, has 3 school age children and lives in the Avondale area.
Lead Pre-K Teacher (4/5's) • Ms Lisa has been with NCDC since it opened over 6 years ago. She has her associates degree in Early Childhood Education and her CDA. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood from Millersville Univestiy. She lives in the Oxford area and has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
School Age Child Care • Ms Ugochi is our Before School teacher. She has her Masters in Elementary Education and has been with NCDC for over 4 years. She is originally from Africa and has 4 grown children.
Ms Geraldine, our Assistant Director, is one of our After School teachers along with Shirley Macaron.
Ms Shirley has been with NCDC for 5 years. She has a CDA and is pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has 4 children and lives in the Oxford area.
