Our Staff
Director • The director is responsible for forming the center philosophy, center policies, and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance of all child care regulations. NCDC has hired a director with an Early Childhood degree and experience to ensure that the program is the highest quality child care in the area. A strong background and training in early childhood is paramount to the development of age appropriate policies and programs.
Our director, Jennifer Potts, has a dual degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She is certified by the state of Pennsylvania Department of Education for Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has worked in childcare for 16 years and has directed programs for infants to school age for 10 of those years. She lives in Little Britain and has 2 school age girls, 14 and 10. She has lived in the community for over 15 years.
Assistant Director • Kathy Kashner is our assistant director. She is responsible for assisting in day to day operations of the center. Kathy has an Elementary degree from West Chester and has worked in child care for over 9 years. She most recently was an assistant director at a child care center in Newark for 3 years. She also is the proud mother of toddler twins.
Lead Caregivers • While the lead caregivers at NCDC are required to have a minimum of 2 years experience in the child care field, we also seek out individuals that demonstrate a firm knowledge and understanding of child development. Staff are required to attend 12 hours of training throughout the year. Each lead caregiver is certified in CPR and first aid as well.
Lead Infant Caregiver • Denise has provided in home child care for the past 8 years for infants to school agers. She also has a CDA (Child Development Associates) in Infant and Toddler Education. She lives in Nottingham and has 3 children, ages 13, 10 and 6.
Lead Young Ones Caregiver • Miss Shirley has been at NCDC for the past year. She has a CDA in Infant and Toddler Education and has over 4 years experience working with children in a child care setting. She has three children, ages 8, 5 and 2.
Lead Older Ones Caregiver • Tasha studied early childhood education at Lancaster County Career and Technology Center and is presently working on her CDA certification. She also spent 2 years working in the field. She lives in Peach Bottom.
Lead Young Twos Caregiver • Miss Denise has worked at NCDC for over 2 years. She has worked with all age groups. She is presently enrolled in a CDA program.
Lead Older Twos Caregiver • Lisa has a CDA accreditation in Infant and Toddler Education and has 4 years experience working with children. She lives in the Oxford area and has three children and one grandson.
Lead Preschool Teacher (3's) • Jill has an AS in Early Childhood Education. She has experience working with children for the past 9 years in a local child care center. Jill lives in the Lincoln University area.
Lead Pre-K Teacher (4/5's) • Sherri has an AA in Early Childhood Education and a BS in Elementary Education. She has worked in preschool education and child care for 10 years. She lives in Little Britain and has 3 children, ages 3, 7 and 10.
School Age Child Care • Miss Wendy has her CDA in Preschool Education. She has been employed at NCDC for over a year working with the school age children. This includes our children who are here for kindergarten care as well as the students who arrive at the end of the full school day. She also is responsible for planning and organizing summer camp. Wendy lives in the Little Britain area and has a 4 year old son.
